No Joy in Mudville

Sorry Jeff that the Cards did not pull it out. At least they got back to Saint Louis. After that Berkman HR in the 7th Monday night I was ready to write them off. But luckily I didn't and watched the game until the end and saw that awesome Pujol's rocket shot.

I think it should provide an interesting World Series the same. Finally some new stories and things to hear about. When the Yankees make it all you is stuff about the same people and the Yankee legends, blah, blah, blah. And that is me being objective about the whole Yankee thing!!

Bill, I know your team did not make it to the World Series either, but Baby Steps! At least there is a World Series in Chi-town.

So the marketing/revenue people should not be horrified. Chicago is a big city, and Houston is by no means a small market club. If George Sr is going to the games, do you think Jr will show up at one of the games in Houston?? Maybe he can go by and see Tommy Delay at the County Jail while he is there.

BTW My Fantasy team got clobbered last weekend. TO and Anquan Boldin had bye weeks, Corey Dillion did nothing, not sure he even played.

BOWL BOUND??

If it wasn't for the reality that is the rest of our season schedule I would be thinking BOWL GAME.

Tech looks really tough. I watched the end of the Tech/Nebraska game. Tech punched in a must have touchdown in the waning seconds to win and quiet the crowd in Norman.

I like the one article I read, that kept referring to Iowa St as last year's North Co-champions, and saying how the North Division is the weak link in the Conference. But hey to say we beat the North Co-champions on the road, I will take it!!

Maybe we can pull an upset against Nebraska or OSU??

One can dream, can't they???

What about that Astros/Braves game yesterday. WOW! 2 Grand slams, 18 innings, a series ending walk off home-run and Clemens coming out of the bullpen for the first time in 21 yrs to get the win.

Baylor Gridiron

So, what exactly is up with the football team this year? I mean we're a whisker away from having beaten A&M on the road and opening with a 4-0 record? I saw several pre-season predictions that basically thought Samford was our only sure victory for the year. Dare we hope for (gasp) TWO conference wins (I'm looking at Iowa State and Missouri)???

Pennant Fever!

Woo-hoo, Go Cardinals!!!!

Beginnings

Well the blog has started and now it is time for the rubber to meet the road.

What topics should we tackle first?

Maybe "Harriet Miers, Bush Crony or Hidden Gem??" (subtitled "Is Harry a Brownie?")

OR, "10 Reasons Bill Gohs should be the next Fed Chairman"

10. Has more Hair than Alan!
9. Has a better sense of humor than Alan!
8. Drinks more beer than Alan!
7. Wife is not a TV news personality.
6. Name is shorter.
5. Then maybe the chicks will dig him.
4. Already dated all the women in Peoria, time for a change of scenery.
3. Someone in Washington needs to give Illinois a good name!

I digress, plus running out of ideas!

Anyhow, I have to meeting down the street.

But I heard Harriet ran the Texas Bar, and George said she makes a really good martini!!
