Baylor Football
Well, Boys... it's time to crank up the blog since it's football season...
I did not listen to this week's game against NWLaSt, but I did watch the game against TCU. I was really impressed with what I saw. I figured there would be more 'first game' mistakes, especially with running a new offense. However, we didn't make many mistakes. The ones that did occur could be chalked up to minor, correctable things.
The important thing in my mind is that we controlled most of the game against a team that was ranked #23 in the nation. It didn't really fall apart until the latter part of the game. And then, we only lost by 10 points, so nothing to be embarrassed about at all. Overall, I came away happy. I think we are better than we have been in a LONG time... probably the best we have been since we were in school. Ouch. At least, it's better late than never.
Also, It was good to see us put up a lot of points against a AA team this week. Sounds like there was still some small things they want to get corrected. But again, no major problems... so that's good to hear.
THIS WEEK: Washington State... although WSU will be the favorite, I think the teams are closer in talent than most people will give us credit for. We still have the stigma as being the doormat in the Big 12. However, I think we can pull out a victory. So, I will go on record with a bold statement here...
We WILL beat WSU. THEN... we will be 4-1 AND getting votes in the polls going in to the game against Colorado. Thus, starting to chip away at that stigma!
Flipped my lid? Blind patriotism for all things Green and Gold? I don't think so my bruin friends. Comments? Opinions? Let's here them... make a post!

Didn't get the chance to read the post until this morning. But I agree with you assessment of the TCU game. We held our own, put up some good numbers and gave TCU a good dose of reality going into halftime. I was most disappointed in the fact that the team was cramping up so bad in the second half. That is a lack of preparation and training. Even I know that I have to hydrate well going into games, and I am only the referee.
TCU beat Texas Tech 12-3. I think that bodes well for us.
Well the WSU game is over and Bill you were right in that the teams seemed very evenly matched. I didn't listen to the game but read over the box score. Sad to say we lost. A missed 2-pt conversion away from being tied.
I liked the fact that we went for the 2-pt conversion even though we were up 15-14 at the time. A one point conversion would be useless if they kicked (as they did) a field goal.
What shocked me was 10 YARDS TOTAL RUSHING!!!! WHAT??? We have 35 positive yards, and Bell had -25 yds. Though that was countered with only 54 total rushing yards by WSU.
Going into next week, I am not sure what to make of A&M's 28-24 victory over ARMY. Should I be encouraged that A&M is not that strong, or worried that Army is that Good??
